WHEN LIFESTYLE MEETS PURPOSE

Check out these 5 things that made my trip easier!

(1) GET TO KNOW THE CURRENT WEATHER

Before leaving your country, make sure you check for Taipei's unpredictable weather. Better if you bring foldable umbrella because rain strikes from time to time. Although you can buy umbrellas everywhere in the city, for me it's more expensive than price in the Philippines and the product quality is not even satisfying.

(2) IT'S ALWAYS CASH OVER CARD

Given that NT$ is 1.74 in Philippine Peso, I suggest that you change at the airport so you'll arrive in Taipei all set and ready  for the trip. Estimate how much you will be needing for the whole stay to avoid looking for money changers that surely will consume your travel hours. Always go for cash over swiping your card so you can control your budget easily.

(3) DON'T FORGET TO CARRY A SIMPLE AND LIGHT BODY SLING BAG

Aside from your check-in baggage and hand carry bags, prepare a light body sling bag where you can put your emergency essentials. Sharing you mine: Passport, 2 Valid IDs (if you have), Printed E-Ticket, Cash, Power Bank, Phone Cable, Mobile Phone, Hotel Key Card, Mints and Sanitizer. Remember that it's always at ease to travel with just something light to carry.

(4) OPT FOR DIY ITINERARY

Based on our experiences, since internet has so much to share with everyone for free, we do informal research on must-see / must-try spots in a certain place we wanna try. Then we prefer DIY Itineraries. Why? Number 1, you can choose wherever you want based on your preferences. Number 2, you will save time if you try to manage your own trip.

(5) DON'T HESITATE TO TRY THEIR STREET FOOD

Never miss this. Try every country's street food so you can get a taste of their country. Street Food in Taipei is really a must-try. You can visit Tam Sui or their most popular night market that hosts long lines of food kiosks and stalls of traditional and modern Taiwan food, it's located in Shi Lin Market.

Make the most out of your every trip by choosing public transportation over renting private vehicles. Aside from helping the country in reducing pollution, it provides the traveler some social benefits where you can explore the beauty of Taiwan culture!

You can scan the MRT Taipei Travel Guide for your guidance on taking Public Transportation.

THESE 4 MILK TEA SHOPS ARE REALLY A MUST-TRY IN TAIPEI:

(1) 50 LAN - if you want a not so sweet Milk Tea

(2) TIGER SUGAR - if you have a sweet tooth (It tastes like roasted raw coco sugar)

(3) COMEBUY - if you wanna try a balanced taste of milk - tea - sweetness

(4) PRESOTEA - if you want a deeper taste of Milk Tea

COSMED is every girl's go-to place! Like me, I always look for a shop where I can buy my emergency and vanity essentials. What I love most about Cosmed is its wide stocks of girl stuff. Good bye, Watsons and Mannings of Hong Kong! You can find so much choices of contact lenses here, balms, moisturizers and even a pocket snack! They also offers quality cosmetics from different brands such as Centellian24, Clio, Dr. Wu, Cure, Kate, Dr's Formula, Meko, Macchia Label and more!

Everybody is still on their shopping madness? You may look for SuperKTV which is located at No. 1號, Yumen Street, Zhongshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 10491. For only NT$, you can enjoy your 15-minute sing-alone time!

QUICK PASALUBONG TIPS? Go to Tam Sui or Shi Lin Market to look for Taiwan Merch. For thrift shopping, go to Ximending. If you want to take home classic souvenirs, go to Taipei 101. You can find dried fruits and other dried snacks at  any Taipei's Underground Mall. But since we don't wanna carry something heavy on our way to airport, we opt for Hsin Tung Yang stores inside the airport.
